Lcc is...

Lexington Community Church is a congregation of people who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and are bound together by a unified purpose, mission, and vision.

  1. We are a church with one purpose. Our chief end in this life is to glorify God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
  2. We are a church with one mission. Before Jesus left this earth He gave His followers a mission - to make disciples (learners) of Jesus. Matthew 28:19 says, "Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations."
  3. We are a church with one vision. In carrying out our ministry of making disciples, we encourage each church member to be actively training for, connecting within, and going on mission for the glory of God.

We are thankful to the Lord for establishing this church, and we gladly worship Him in our devotion and service to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all peoples.

Our Beliefs

Our church beliefs are based upon the conviction that the Word of God is our sufficient and final authority for faith and practice. The link below will take you to our complete statement of faith.

Our leadership

The government of our church is vested in the body of its members. The leadership structure is made up of a plurality of elders who keep watch over the souls of the church (Hebrews 13:17). Deacons also are recognized as officers of our church and hold as their main duty to serve the physical needs of people (Acts 6:1-6).

Ministry Teams also have been created to serve the needs of the church by carrying out many of the day-to-day tasks. Currently, we have six Ministry Teams: the Building & Grounds Team, the Family Ministry team, the Finance Team, the Helps Team, the Missions Team, and the Worship Team.

Our history

Formerly First Baptist Church of Lexington, LCC has been a part of our town's spiritual community since 1856. The church underwent tremendous gospel revival in 2000, which has continued to impact the church to this day. Due to increasing attendance, our congregation built a new facility and moved to a new church location in 2009. We praise the Lord for the rich tradition that was before us and for the new opportunities Jesus Christ is opening up for the gospel through LCC!
