The leadership of LCC would like to provide you with updates regarding the COVID-19 issue. First, let us remember that God has given us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). When we face any issue that has the potential of overtaking us with fear, let us remember and draw calming comfort from the All-powerful God who calls us His beloved children (cue the memory of a sermon from Ephesians 5:1). Therefore, we will seek to face matters like this not with fearful panic, but with faith-filled preparation.
Wed Night Activities:
For the five Wednesdays in April we will have an all-church gathering via Zoom, which can hold up to 100 participants (for those not yet familiar, Zoom is the online platform that we are using for our Sunday School classes). This means that we would replace the current Wednesday evening programs (AWANA, Trek, and Renew) with a general audience, all-are-welcome, time of fellowship and enrichment. We will meet on Zoom at 6:15p for some sharing, prayer, discussion, and a devotional.
Now, we don’t want to discourage any families who are continuing to press forward with their AWANA and Trek material. If there is anything we can do to help your children finish the year strong, please let us know. We would be more than happy to walk alongside of you and serve you in this way.
- Sunday School. We are offering live-streaming interactive classes (via Zoom) that allows you to meet in a virtual classroom. So, if you prefer, you can call in and listen to the class. Or, if you prefer, you can connect online via computer or smart phone and can listen to and watch the class as the teacher presents their material via slideshow, etc. Details on how you can join in participation are on our website's front page.
- Main Service. We will be replacing our main services with an online video. Our sermons will be recorded and available to you on our YouTube channel. We encourage you to keep the same routine as you normally would for a Sunday. If you are parents with children at home, we encourage you to gather your family together for a service and keep it as “normal” as possible. You can have a time of singing, praying, giving (our Finance Team will be communicating with you about new options for this), listening to the Word, and then discussing/applying the message. Also, consider opening the church directory and writing a letter to or calling someone in the church to encourage them.
- Sr High Youth. You can read the explanation above of what we are hoping to do with our Sunday School meetings. We would like to do the same with the youth as well. If needed, we can change the meeting time to best suit everyone. Stay tuned for more details on this.
Will you join us in viewing this as an unprecedented OPPORTUNITY to walk in a manner worthy of our calling? Let us continue to worship in the midst of difficulty and serve each other in the midst of solitude. May the Lord do a deep work in all of us as we each do our part, making the body grow so that it builds itself up in love (Eph 4:16).
We will be adding videos to our YouTube page to keep you updated and involved. You can follow our Facebook page as well for updates, videos, and as an avenue to reach out to church leadership and staff. Breeze is our church directory and is a great way to keep in touch with your church family. (To access Breeze please email the office for log in information)
